Network Rail, London Underground and Docklands Light Railway
Our design and management involvement in rail works started in the 1980s and covers virtually all the main railway operators in the UK.
During 2011, we, KLH & Associates Ltd, were approached by a national contractor enquiring whether we would take on the position of Contractors Responsible Engineer (CRE) on a number of Network Rail contracts in the South East of England.
We agreed, and for approximately two years represented the contractor as its CRE, dealing with many different schemes.
This included compiling and submitting the necessary documents, such as Approval in Principle (AIP), Conceptual Design Statements (CDS) and Safe Load Assessments, as well as providing designs to suit the detailed planning and construction methods developed in close liaison with our clients.
We have been certified as Category 2 and Category 3 design checkers on numerous rail projects.

4 kilometres of reinforced-concrete balanced-cantilever, post-tensioned viaduct and 1 kilometre in cut, with four elevated stations. Senior QS and engineering consultant.
